A small number of customers may be experiencing issues whilst using the AIB Open Banking Service. PIS payments initiated through the Mobile App2App authentication flow, where the beneficiary is a domestic IBAN and the payment is not greater than €1,000, may result in a prompt to use a Card Reader to complete the payment.
Analysis has found that c. 4.5% of PIS payments are currently impacted by this issue. The root cause has been determined and a software change to fix the issue is currently in test. The current plan is to implement this change to production mid-end of January following completion of the AIB Service Protection.
